How Our Network Works for Homeowners

Who You'll Talk To

Helderic Garage Doors doesn't employ the people who fix or install your door. You'll talk to an independent provider in our network. That's a local business with its own staff, trucks and prices.

We pass along your request. The provider takes it from there.

What They'll Ask You

Expect a few simple questions. Have answers ready.

  • What is the door doing? Stuck, loud, crooked, or won't move?
  • Did you hear a bang before it failed?
  • Is the door single or double? Wood, steel or other?
  • How old is the door and the opener?
  • Is the door blocking a car or the entry?

Photos help. So does the opener brand, if you know it.

Questions to Ask the Provider

Ask before you hire. Here is what to ask and what a good answer sounds like.

  • Will I get a written quote? Good: yes, with parts and labor listed. Red flag: "We'll figure it out when we get there."
  • Are you licensed and insured? Good: a clear yes, and they can show proof. Red flag: dodging the question.
  • What exactly is wrong? Good: a plain explanation of the spring, track alignment or opener. Red flag: scary talk with no detail.
  • Is the work warrantied in writing? Good: terms you can read. Red flag: only a verbal promise.
  • Can the door be repaired, or must it be replaced? Good: reasons for either. Red flag: pushing replacement every time.

Older Homes Need Extra Questions

If your house is older, say so. Ask if the provider checks the framing, the header and the old hardware. Old homes, extra care.

The Decision Is Yours

You can get more than one quote. You can say no. A good provider won't rush you. If someone pressures you, step back.

Costs vary by job. Get it in writing.
